This year for Thanksgiving we were with the Twitchell's. It was my holiday to work but luckily I got off around 3pm and still made it for the end of Thanksgiving dinner.
It was also Tyler's birthday on Thanksgiving Day so we had cake and ice cream.

Bryce and Max had cow elk tags so Thanksgiving morning they went out to Poverty Flat and both shot their elk. Max shot a cow elk and Bryce shot a little bull elk.
It had snowed a lot but we wanted to go cut down a Christmas tree the day after Thanksgiving so we tried to go up Monroe Mountain. We didn't make it very far up before the snow got too deep for us so we turned around and decided to try and go up Thompson Basin. We made it quite far up but again the snow got too deep and we still weren't high enough to find a good tree. We weren't in a place where we could turn around so we backed up and hit some thick ice and did a 180. The truck flipped around and hit the dirt/snow on the side of the mountain. Luckily it didn't do any damage but as Bryce was trying to back out so that he was going straight forward the truck kept sliding closer and closer to a big rock. Then a bunch of guys on four wheelers came up, one of them being Bryce's principal Mike, and helped push us out. They told us to be careful going down the next hill because it was really slick and they had a hard time getting their four wheelers up it. So Bryce stayed close to the mountain and tried to inch his way down but again we hit thick ice and did another 180 so then we were going down the hill backwards! (Max and Jenny watched the whole thing) Luckily we missed the four wheeler trailer on the side of the road and hit a bush. Again we didn't do any damage. We decided we had just better get out of there before something did happen to our truck. The next day we went up to Fish Lake and had no problems getting to where we could find tree. We found a pretty awesome one too!
