Las Vegas

I went down to Vegas for round two at the NCLEX nursing test. Bryce couldn't come with me because of school so my mom took off work to come down with me. I was so grateful to have her there. Thanks mom for coming with me!

On our way we stopped in St. George at Karalee's house. Easter weekend we never had time for an Easter egg hunt so my mom brought the eggs to St. George for an Easter egg hunt.

Then we went to lunch at Costa Vida

We stayed at the Luxor

We went out and visited Dave and Teresa

I took my test for the 2nd time and I was in and out of there a lot quicker this time so I thought that I had passed. Well as it turns out I didn't pass again. But I went the whole day thinking that I had so I still had a good time down in Vegas.

We went to lunch at the Luxor with Teresa.

Then my mom and I went to the Mirage and went to see the animals they have there. They had dolphins and when we got there the trainers had just come out with them so they were doing all kinds of tricks. It was really fun to see.

This one is kinda hard to see but there are two of them jumping in the air at the other end of the pool.

If you look close you can see the one on the edge of the pool. He jumped up on the edge of the pool and did a roll then went back into the pool.

They also had a cheetah and a bunch of different kinds of tigers that you could go see.

Easter

This year Easter landed on my mom's birthday so we went to Delta for the weekend. Saturday we went out to the sand dunes and had lunch, played in the sand and rolled Easter eggs down the hill.
(I had never heard of this till Bryce told me it was one of their traditions and it was a lot of fun)

The girls had fun with their new Easter sand toys

And Breanna is a kid at heart so of course she had fun with the sand toys too

My dad was working because it was still the outage so we planned a little trip out there to tour the power plant. I hadn't been there since I was little and my dad has switched jobs a couple of times since then so I wanted to go out there.

We were all looking hot in our hard hats and safety glasses!
(The orange hats are for visitors)

The power plant is huge and we had some good educational lessons for which I only understood about half of.

This is where the trains come through and dump the coal. They have this system down to a science.
(This is the part I actually understood)

Easter morning the girls colored Easter eggs

After church we went out to my Aunt Bev's house. Her and Sheila put together a dinner for my mom's birthday.

Notice that the girls are smiling and the boys are ignoring the camera...typical

Breanna smiling a real smile for once.
Shany came down on Saturday night but was sick so she couldn't come out and celebrate with us.

My mom made this adorable cake. It's carrot cake for Easter.
(I wrote the Happy Birthday on it, don't judge my cake decorating handwriting)

I made sure to put 49 candles on the cake so Kaylee helped grandma to blow them all out.

We got her a food dehydrator for her birthday.

Kaylee made sure that Grandma held up each gift for a picture. She has been trained well.

George's Funeral

For the last few years my Uncle George has suffered from Multiple System Atrophy. It is a really rare disease and there isn't a cure for it. It affects your fine motor skills and slowly progresses to where you can't move hardly at all. It has been really hard to watch him struggle with this disease. He was always one to tease everyone around him and I know it was frustrating when he lost his ability to speak. He also was very active. He loved to exercise and stay in shape. I'm sure that it was difficult to lose the ability to walk. Even through these last few years George had an amazing attitude. He never lost his sense of humor. He was a great man and will always be missed in our family.

George was from Tennessee. This was his younger brother who flew out for the funeral.
It was great to meet him. I couldn't help but keep looking at him cause he looks so much like George.

My Aunt Sheila is the strongest woman I know. She has had to go through so many trials in her life and has an amazing attitude. She stays strong in the church and has so much faith. I admire her for her strength. She even spoke at George's funeral (at his request) and didn't an amazing job.
